Requirements
- 7+ years of newsroom experience with a track record in business or financial journalism.
- Demonstrated experience as a fast, clean writer with deep knowledge of business, economics, and finance.
- Demonstrated experience as an editor with strong headline and display-writing skills.
- Proven ability to write in a clear, concise conversational style.
- Available to work 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Edit and shape stories with speed, precision, and contextual depth.
- Write, curate, and aggregate financial and business news, including under tight deadlines.
- Coordinate coverage and collaborate with reporters and editors to prioritize stories.
- Contribute to the newsletter and site production with clean, sharp copy.
- Ensure high editorial standards and deadline discipline.
- Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Preferred Qualifications
- Highly organized and effective under pressure.
- Previous work demonstrating an understanding of their audience and the ability to build a relationship with and grow that audience.
