Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of paralegal experience in employment and litigation.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, including the EEOC and general corporate and business litigation.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and ability to assist in all stages of the litigation process.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to interact confidently with team members, attorneys, and stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Understanding of ethical rules, including privilege and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provide full range of paralegal services to RVO Health Legal, Privacy and Compliance team and Human Resources team.
- Assist with employment matters, such as EEOC charges, employee relations, discrimination and harassment allegations, and unfair competition.
- Prepare and revise legal documents, such as contracts, non-disclosure agreements, employment agreements, separation agreements, pleadings, witness statements, discovery, while ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.
- Assist in the organization, indexing, and maintenance of case-related documents, including correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and exhibits.
- Prepare materials for cases by compiling and organizing evidence, witness statements, and other related materials.
- Assist in affirmative action compliance, including coordinating with internal stakeholders to analyze workforce data, identify areas for improvement, recommend action plans, and monitor implementation and training.
- Support legal privacy team with company-wide requests and consent/ opt-out management.
- Research case laws, statutes, and legal precedents to support Legal as they provide advice and counsel on employment issues and policies.
- Monitor legal publications, industry news, and other reliable sources to identify and analyze any changes that may impact ongoing or future litigation cases.
- Maintain and update case files and organizational system to track case progress, deadlines, and important milestones.
- Prepare materials for Legal meetings and training sessions.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and share relevant information.
- Compile information and assist in reviewing and responding to third-party subpoenas.
- Assist with client communication and following up on inquiries.
- Provide administrative support to Legal related to legal matters, including coordinating meetings, creating presentations, updating and/or creating forms and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with Legal and HR projects and perform other assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited paralegal program (optional).
- Familiarity with privacy laws, practices and OneTrust (optional).
