Requirements
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least five years of progressive experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design and Development role. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least three years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design and Development role.
- Must possess at least 3 years of design engineering experience with Aerospace products and design processes.
- Must possess at least 3 years of design engineering experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Must possess at least 2 years of design engineering experience with Siemens NX CAD development tools and integration with Team Center.
Responsibilities
- Research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer and production, transmission, measurement and use of energy.
- Apply research to the planning, design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines and/or machines.
- Evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
- Manage elements of product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
- Execute test and qualification for systems, sub-systems and components.
- Review test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
- Enhance commonality and optimization of product & components.
- Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to access operating conditions effects and necessity of modification.
- Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders/ purchase requests.
- Work with quality clinic and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.
- Apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
- Ensure novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.
