Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager in a software development org
- Strong communicator with excellent people skills to interact with various teams including product, design, data science, and platform teams
- Experience managing, developing, testing, and iterating on user-facing machine learning models
- Experience working directly with data science and research partners in delivering machine learning models
- Familiarity and comfortable with key methods of evaluating models and ensuring they meet the needs of the user and the business
- Significant experience using data and analytics to solve problems
- Demonstrated success building and shipping software products in spite of market ambiguity or company challenges
- Experience with our tech stack: Python, Postgres, Airflow, Redshift, Spark, etc.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage highly complex AI/ML company deliverables while championing high performance standards through predictable delivery and engineering excellence
- Participate in technical architecture discussions and peer code reviews
- Grow and manage your team
- Hire, onboard, and mentor new team members
- Pair with product management and data science partners to define the product roadmap for your team and make good trade-offs between product delivery and sustaining engineering
- Coordinate with other internal stakeholders (data science, product marketing, customer support, SRE) to help drive larger company initiatives
