Requirements
- Must be proficient in translating reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language.
- Must be able to capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
- Must be able to interpret accurately, with a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.
- Must possess excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.
- Must have a BA/BS and/or equivalent formal military training and 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Must have 3+ years of professional and recent translation AND interpretation experience.
- Must take and pass a language test administered by LEIDOS/an accepted commercial testing vendor.
Responsibilities
- Translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats accurately.
- Capture intended implications and nuances in translations.
- Interpret accurately, typically using consecutive interpretation, with occasional simultaneous interpretation.
- Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, and law enforcement experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in Target and English.
- Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly desired.
