Requirements

  • MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, with a deep understanding of signal integrity fundamentals for both single-ended and differential signals.
  • Expert proficiency in 2.5D (PowerSI, SIWave) and 3D full-wave (HFSS) modeling; extensive experience with quasi-static tools (Q3D) for accurate interconnect analysis.
  • Extensive experience modeling interconnects, including passive components, connectors, cables, multi-layer PCBs, flex circuits, and packages using 3D electromagnetic tools to optimize design performance.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Matlab, Python, PERL, or equivalent, for automating simulations and analysis to enhance system-level design and validation.
  • Experience designing and developing equalizations for high-speed differential, single-ended, and low-speed GPIO signals, ensuring signal integrity across complex systems.
  • Hands-on expertise in frequency and time domain measurements using VNA and TDR, including advanced skills in calibration, de-embedding, and ensuring accurate results in signal analysis.
  • Experience supporting the design and development of custom cables, factory builds, and electrical compliance testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced technical solutions for complex, multi-domain projects, contributing to project planning and scheduling.
  • Model high-density I/Os, multi-layer PCBs, flex circuits, cables, and connectors, analyzing parameters such as reflections, bandwidth, and crosstalk.
  • Utilize industry-standard simulation tools, including HSPICE, Sigrity, ADS, Ansys SIwave, and HFSS 3D.
  • Perform transmission line and via modeling, conducting experiments to validate methodologies and outcomes.
  • Analyze PCB layouts to identify and resolve Signal Integrity and Power Integrity issues.
  • Provide practical design recommendations based on simulation results, collaborating closely with PCB and package design teams.
  • Conduct simulations for memory interfaces and high-speed serial I/O at board and package levels.
  • Optimize decoupling capacitor placement and minimize loop inductance for enhanced performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure cutting-edge methodologies in design and validation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more technical areas, acting as a go-to resource for technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with the NVIDIA Jetson platform.
  • Proficiency in ADS.
  • Expertise in thermal testing and EMC/EMI compliance verification.
  • Familiarity with one or more areas: sensors, motors, batteries, cameras, power systems, and thermal design.
  • Experience managing overseas vendor partnerships and factory support.
  • Industry experience in automotive, medical, aerospace, or robotics.
  • Proficiency in developing automation scripts (Python, Bash) for hardware testing.
