Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in the areas of business, economics or human resources.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designations are considered assets.
  • At least 10+ years of human resources, executive compensation, capital markets front office compensation or knowledge and/or governance experience.
  • Proven consulting and project management skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/changing priorities concurrently under tight timelines and with multiple stakeholders all while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and complex concepts into straightforward and easy to understand information for a variety of stakeholders, including the ability to independently draft regulatory responses.
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the bank’s compensation plans, and policies are designed to comply with all global and local compensation regulations in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
  • Lead the development of the Bank’s response to compensation-related regulatory requests.
  • Oversee the preparation of global regulatory disclosures, reports, and filings.
  • Assess program alignment with regulatory requirements or other best practices and recommend policy or plan design changes, as appropriate.
  • Support and prepare materials for 5 remuneration committees (currently 12 committee meetings annually providing oversight over 11 jurisdictions).
  • Provide advice, research, analysis and support on topics related to governance, disclosure, committee mandate, etc.
  • Lead the annual Compensation Audit.
  • Understand and guide others on how the bank’s risk appetite is considered as part of daily compensation activities and decisions.
  • Provide guidance on structuring individual compensation recommendations, in alignment with the bank’s policies and in compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Ensure business strategies and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
