Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma.
  • Completed or working towards finance/accounting designation (CPA, CFA).
  • Experience in finance and/or compensation professional with 5-8 years reporting or consolidations in a large corporate environment.
  • Proven experience in research and modeling, including the development of spreadsheets, databases and presentations.
  • Expert skills in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) including macros and VLOOKUP.
  • Clear, concise and effective verbal and written communication skills. Presentation skills suitable for senior-level audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the development of compensation reporting and analytics that support required RBC HR and Board committee approvals through the year.
  • Provide actionable insights to the Executive Compensation Advisory function to support business goals and objectives to retain and attract the best executive talent.
  • Expertise in the design / development of compelling and strategic compensation related reporting and analytics regarding base salary and incentive programs for senior committees through large Excel based spreadsheet applications.
  • Actively engage with HR Business Partners and the HR teams to drive new and insightful compensation reporting that support major business change initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed tables/charts in support of the RBC’s annual Proxy Circular regarding executive compensation, requiring a high degree of attention to detail and strong financial acumen.
  • Periodic review of RBC’s 3 compensation related peer groups for executives including the CEO and GE.
  • Prepare forward looking compensation analytics by leveraging external networks to provide RBC with competitive intelligence, keeping abreast of market trends that could impact RBC compensation programs.
  • Flexible skill set to prepare adhoc analytics as required.
  • Assist with annual executive compensation benchmarking working with other compensation team members.
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness through continuous process improvement, automation and streamlining.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MIR (Masters Industrial Relations) or CCP (Certified Compensation Professional).
  • Executive compensation experience within financial services.
