Requirements
- Minimum 9 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience AND 3 years of experience in Employee Communications
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field AND minimum 6 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience AND minimum 3 years of experience in Employee Communications
Responsibilities
- Build relationships and act as a trusted partner to Engineering executives, advising on communications strategies and shaping internal messaging that provides clarity and engages employees.
- Strong understanding of business needs and insights to recommend, develop, socialize and implement communications strategies aligned with Engineering strategic priorities. Analyze engagement data and adapt communication strategies accordingly.
- Recommend what channels are most appropriate and drive tactical execution across multiple communication formats and channels.
- Develop clear, compelling narratives that simplify complex technical concepts for a variety of audiences.
- Write and edit high-quality communications, including newsletters, executive messages, technical blog posts, and internal announcements. Develop targeted messaging for different employee levels.
- Organize and manage internal events such as All Hands, AMAs, Q&A sessions, and interactive forums to foster dialogue and engagement.
- Lead communications for change management initiatives including new technologies, process updates, and organizational shifts.
- Own stakeholder relationships with cross-functional teams, including HR, Chiefs of Staff, and external communications to ensure alignment and consistency.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience supporting senior executives, including the ability to advise on communications approach and messaging
- 6+ years of experience in Employee Communications roles
- 3+ years working in a technology or engineering-focused communications role
- Ability to connect dots and see the bigger picture across a large global organization
- Exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to operate with a high degree of discretion
- Technical acumen – understanding of AI concepts, terminology, and workflows. Ability to work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate messaging.
- Project management – strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple communication initiatives simultaneously, operate with ambiguity, and inspire collaboration at all levels of the organization
