Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; with 11+ years of industry experience
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and mentoring direct reports
- Experience designing for high-volume manufacture in a hardware product development company
- Expert knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication, metal joining techniques, metal material finishes
- Experience designing large outdoor metal enclosures, seals, closures, and ingress protection
- Experience defining products and engineering requirements, and implementing FMEA principles
- Familiarity with relevant standards such as: UL50, UL9540, ASCE 7
- Strong technical communication skills, especially with external parties and across internal functional teams
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a world-class team of mechanical design and structural engineers
- Lead the mechanical and structural design and optimization of Form Energy’s iron-air battery module and enclosure
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of structural & CFD analysts, system integration, manufacturing, and transportation & logistics team to develop optimized designs for performance, cost, and reliability throughout the full development cycle
- Contribute to the design and testing of internal engineering prototypes

- Energy storage / high power product experience is a plus
