Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
  • 4+ years’ of experience in investment operations, treasury, cash management, or fund administration (pension, asset management or investment fund experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of investment products (fixed income, equities, alternatives), fund structures, and capital markets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at different levels of the organization and a variety of external contacts
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify and solve data and calculation errors
  • Willingness and flexibility to examine and improve the current processes
  • Ability to work independently, identify and solve problems through conducting analysis supported by facts
  • Strong intellectual curiosity about the financial markets and investments

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily cash balances and ensure adequate liquidity across investment accounts
  • Manage cash transfers, rebalancing instructions, and short-term funding requirements
  • Run liquidity scenario analyses to assess readiness under various market conditions
  • Provide insights and recommendations on liquidity optimization strategies
  • Coordinate and process benefit payments to pensioners and invoices from investment managers and third-party service providers
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payment instructions, reconciliations, and cash flows
  • Liaise with the Plan’s custodian and administrators on operational issues and documentation
  • Assist in monitoring and validating investment performance across asset classes
  • Support the production of regular and ad-hoc performance and operational reports for internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Maintain up-to-date records of transactions, asset allocation, and fund flows
  • Coordinate Know Your Client (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) documentation for new and existing investments
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and support audit and risk management processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA, CAIA, CPA or other relevant designation
  • Experience working with custodians, external fund managers, or financial vendors is an asset
