Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience
- Experience with data analytics systems (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau), with implementation experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax technology strategies to optimize internal and co-sourced tax operations, improving efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance.
- Develop and implement tax data management strategies to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Support process improvement initiatives across Tax by analyzing existing tax processes, suggesting alternate solutions, and helping to implement those solutions.
- Represent Verizon Tax in enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., 1ERP, 1 Corporate Data) ensuring tax requirements are met.
- Lead Verizon Tax in collaborating with Accounting and FP&A to ensure finance transformation solutions meet cross-functional needs.
- Identify and assess tax technology risks and opportunities, developing solutions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Assist in resolving tax technology issues, including system implementation and data management challenges.
- Provide guidance and training on tax technology to the tax team and other departments.
- Drive organizational change by communicating process improvement and technology implementation benefits, providing training and support, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax.
- Experience with OneSource tax applications (Tax Provision, Income Tax, Apportionment) and API functionality.
- Experience with S4HANA.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional projects and teams, successfully implementing process improvements and technology solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels in a team environment.
- Ability to independently challenge while remaining supportive and solution-oriented.
- Ability to navigate conflicting demands, prioritize objectives, and meet stakeholder needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
