Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field
  • 6+ years of experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (US Citizenship)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, to include, but not limited to: power supply and propulsion systems.
  • Research and develop ship propulsion systems, to include, but not limited to: diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements.
  • Develop system documentation and ship specifications.
  • Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard propulsion machinery
  • Review and develop technical data packages
  • Provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements
  • Conduct and oversee trade studies.
  • Provide knowledge of ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
