Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance related to data use within marketing or advertising industries, at either a company implementing compliance or a compliance technology vendor.
- Expertise in data governance, regulatory compliance (e.g., the DMA, the GDPR, CCPA, various country-level and U.S. state-level laws), and privacy-first marketing practices.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for data handling, such as automated data deletion from third-party systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain compliance measures across all marketing data pipelines—both internal and external—to ensure the secure collection, storage, processing, and sharing of consumer information.
- Negotiate the interpretation and application of data compliance law with legal partners.
- Collaborate with internal legal counsel, technical program management, engineering, and vertical marketing teams to formulate and implement compliance measures that align with global data privacy laws and internal policies.
- Provide training and guidance to marketing teams on best practices for data privacy, security, and compliance.
- Monitor changes in global data privacy regulations and update policies to maintain compliance across all marketing activities.
- Manage risk assessments, audits, and examinations related to marketing data compliance.
- Create and configure automated compliance monitoring processes.
- Oversee the implementation of workflow tools that integrate compliance checks into marketing processes.
- Support vendor onboarding by ensuring third parties adhere to company policies for data protection and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing compliance frameworks for data-driven marketing activities.
- Compliance certification for data use, privacy, or protection, such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
- Experience with data use dependencies on first-party and third-party cookies, essential and non-essential cookies, and tag management systems.
- Familiarity with Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) in the context of behavioral tracking for digital advertising.
- Familiarity with the EU AI Act.
