Requirements
- Experience and strength in Creo Parametric
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T specification
- 10 – 15 years of related professional work experience
- History of working with spacecraft at NASA Goddard Space Flight center, or another NASA center
- Ability to provide guidance and expertise in mechanical design
- Capability to organize and coordinate task level efforts including interfacing with mechanical and structural engineers
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-formulation, formulation, and implementation mechanical design and integration and test support services including inputs to the telescope mechanical requirements, interface requirements, and trade studies as needed
- Support all mechanical design aspects of GSFC telescope development for the LISA mission
- Provide mechanical design inputs to the telescope vendor fabrication and assembly as needed
- Providing analysis and test documentation for CAD models and drawings for all mechanical hardware
- Reviewing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) decisions for compliance
- Collaboration with our engineering leads and our manufacturers to ensure compliance with requirements
