Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 10 years of previous work experience working in the semiconductor industry
  • Ability to obtain and maintain USG Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research in emerging semiconductor technologies, including artificial intelligence
  • Possess a strong understanding of both legal and technical aspects of patents
  • Ability to write technical white papers and research papers
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to support in-office visits and local travel, as required, possibly with short notice.
  • Must live within a reasonable distance of the San Jose area

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in evaluating materials, hardware, and semiconductor components to identify supply chain vulnerabilities and provide mitigations to minimize risks.
  • Identify threats to the supply chain to include cost volatility, material shortages, supplier financial issues, and failures and natural man-made disaster to help an organization foresee potential issues.
  • Evaluate hardware/semiconductor parts to their raw materials in order to identify supply chain vulnerabilities.
  • Research may include strategic planning and analysis; demand and capacity analysis; economic analysis; regulatory analysis; safety and risk analysis; system operation performance analysis; and information analysis.
  • Conduct patent research as it pertains to art searches, drafting, and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Provide guidance on patentability and infringement issues.
  • Provide research and technical guidance on supply chain threats including cybersecurity threats, fraud, company profiling, and counterfeit parts for avoidance.
  • Provide technical guidance to team on raw material usage, semiconductor fabrication process, packaging and any other technical guidance as necessary.
  • Provide insightful, well-researched analysis of key analytic findings and guidance to clients with regard to supply chain risk mitigation.
  • Participate as member of client’s analytical working group.
  • Provide on-site client support, including but not limited to client inquiries, requests for ad hoc reporting, miscellaneous research, and advice on analytic methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctoral degree
  • Experience building relationships with suppliers and interfacing when necessary
  • Experience working in fabrication or back-end systems for semiconductor companies
  • Previous experience serving as a technical and risk assessment owner for supplier changes impacting raw materials
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
