Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, or Engineering, with at least 4 years of network security experience; or 6+ years of experience in network security without a degree.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and the OSI model.
- Experience in securing networks, IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and/or APIs.
- Proven track record in deploying, implementing, and testing network security solutions in a live production environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in network security, particularly in firewalls and best practices.
- Manage and update firewall configurations across X’s enterprise network to meet operational needs.
- Deploy new firewalls and network security devices as required by evolving security demands.
- Develop and propose innovative network security solutions to address operational challenges.
- Enhance security processes and manage change through thorough documentation.
- Act as the go-to for resolving complex network security issues.
- Ensure network security systems are up-to-date with patches and maintenance.
- Work with various teams to integrate security into system designs and operations, promoting best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in specific network security technologies, including Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper) and their centralized management systems.
- Dynamic routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN).
- Network IDS/IPS, content filtering, application filtering, and network segmentation.
- Configuration of ACLs on switches/routers, Network Access Control (NAC), and VPN technologies (IPSec, TLS).
- Experience with Web Application Firewalls and integration with SIEM for logging and alerting.
- Proficiency in programming and automation skills is advantageous.
