Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the system and security administration industry
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of data center infrastructure equipment including Infoblox DNS servers, NetApp storage, IP (Internet Protocol) switching, routers, load balancers and firewalls
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey security criteria, operational deficiencies to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
- Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
- Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
Responsibilities
- Work independently to support day-to-day Iridium system and security integration, provide installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers and general computing resource hardware, including VMware infrastructure, and extensive Linux operating system knowledge
- Be accountable for monitoring and maintaining SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates
- Analyze data and draw appropriate conclusions pertaining to security criteria required to meet compliance with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide), IAVA (Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts), and ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution)
- Conduct research on products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the cyber security industry, so you can recommend technologies, best practices, and provide knowledge-based recommendations to management
Preferred Qualifications
- Former military experience
- Experience working on mid-to-large scale government support and security contracts
- Proficiency in platforms such as Nessus, tape backups, logs aggregation, and IP traffic capture and analysis
- Strong knowledge and multi-year hands-on experience with IP communication protocols, such as the OSI Model
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), GCP (Google Cloud Platform), and Azure and cloud hosted solutions such as Splunk/ELK, and Riverbed
- Previous experience working in a telecommunications environment
- Experience working with NIST 800 enclave requirements, STIG, IAVA and ACAS
