Requirements

  • 4+ years of payroll experience required (6+ years preferred) with some experience in companies under 1k employees
  • 1+ years of payroll experience in a publicly traded company
  • 1+ years of payroll experience with processing non-exempt payroll
  • Previous experience implementing relevant systems and processes to serve a high growth environment.
  • Proficiency in multiple payroll and HRIS systems (i.e, BambooHR, ADP, Workday).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations, payroll taxes, and labor code for multi-state organizations a plus
  • Outstanding attention to detail to analyze and draw conclusions from payroll data.
  • Service oriented individual with great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act with discretion in managing confidential information.
  • Adaptable in a changing environment, and able to manage moving priorities, projects, clients, and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process, through our PEO’s, bi-weekly payrolls for US and process semi-monthly payrolls for Puerto Rico, our Therapist network and our corporate payroll.
  • Support Sr. Payroll Manager during payroll system implementation into a non-PEO system with a go-live date of 1/1/2026.
  • Audit data to identify and resolve discrepancies before, during and after payroll processing cycles.
  • Identify necessary off-cycle payroll runs for Sr. Payroll Manager to process.
  • Identify when issues require escalation to Sr. Payroll Manager, as well as improvements to current practices and policies.
  • Provide day-to-day support and issue resolution related to payroll, timekeeping for internal employees and people managers.
  • Maintain electronic payroll files orderly, every pay period by entity, by pay date in real time, in order to be audit ready at any moment.
  • Project manage special payroll initiatives as assigned by the Senior Manager such as documenting payroll process procedures and process improvements.
  • Partner with People Operations to ensure all new hires and payroll related changes are adequately accounted for.
  • Ensure SOX compliance on all aspects of payroll processing, including documentation, testing and audit support.
  • Build strong relationships with our internal employees and people managers to maintain relationships and keep an ear to the ground to help identify needs.
  • Maintain accuracy and ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FPC or CPP certification preferred, but not required.
