Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in processing payroll and supporting payroll accounting.
  • Understanding of Workday report building from payroll results
  • Understanding of Workday account posting rules (GL configuration).
  • Deep understanding of payroll processes, payroll tax, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to include a strong understanding and experience with database, spreadsheet and report writing tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong attention to detail and discretion.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile, configure, and process multiple general ledger files by division accounting for all differences, including support of questions regarding the entries, correcting errors within the payroll systems and providing adjustments as needed.
  • Reconcile and resolve Payroll tax submission though ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Reconcile and process weekly integrations with funding to third parties accounting for all differences for net pay, taxes, garnishments, etc.
  • Process payments for highly compensated employees including Stock, Non-Qualified, and other Perquisites/Programs with an understanding of state and federal tax implications to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with multiple Finance teams to gather requirements for payroll account postings to multiple general ledgers.
  • Conduct financial analysis of payroll-related expenses, including labor costs, benefits, taxes, and other payroll-related liabilities, to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Serve on cross departmental teams and provide payroll accounting support for project teams including acquisitions.
  • Support new procedures/projects and improvements due to business changes, operational requirements, strategic initiatives, and legal requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related subject or equivalent experience (high school diploma or GED with 5+ years of experience).
  • Ability to partner with others and collaborate across the organization.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities.
