Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry.
  • Architect circuit card-level power schemes and develop related requirements.
  • Help to see circuit card development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
  • Drive to meet schedule concerns. Define schedules for circuit level tasking.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with moderate support from senior engineers. Assist in layer stackup definition.
  • Function as an individual contributor. Understand the role of a small team lead and engage in personal technical growth.
  • Clearly present your work product to functional and program leadership.

  • Conceptual familiarity (professional experience preferred) with transformer and inductor design considerations in power electronics circuits.
  • Experience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, and/or with system-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development experience.
  • Experience guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level.
  • Experience in any one of the following: Acting as a liaison between program and functional management in a cross-matrixed organization, Military specifications, Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW. Three-phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development, Program management tools such as Earned Value, Proposal development.
  • Circuit simulator SIMPLIS, system simulator SABER, and/or analysis tool Mathcad.
  • Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx.
