Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in software testing in a process driven technology environment
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, or related field; and 3 years of experience in software testing in a process driven technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience using test cases, scripts, and automated test tools for verifying requirements on multi-tier applications
  • Demonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated experience with Cucumber, JIRA -X-ray, Perforce, Jenkins, Azure VMs, IntelliJ, or visual studio
  • Proven knowledge of Java or Microsoft SQL Server Management studio
  • Proven knowledge of core Java, SQL, and Oracle
  • Experience within the financial industry
  • Experience applying an understanding of client workflows and client data to the test strategy
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Works with a team to complete tasks related to testing strategy to meet the Definition of Done
  • Actively trains intermediate automation skills and assists in maintaining scripts
  • Follows agreed-upon testing practices and drives the definition of test readiness and acceptance criteria for user stories and defects
  • Creates automated tests and maintains them
  • Takes test ownership over multiple functional areas and becomes a subject matter expert
  • Designs, documents and executes test cases for manual and automated tests
  • Learns currently active test suites and patterns, analyzes results, and contributes to improvements
  • Troubleshoots problems encountered in testing
  • Schedules and runs test strategy reviews
  • Develops and maintains test documentation including test plans, procedures, reports, etc.
  • Writes and helps others with effective tests
  • Isolates issues and creates succinct & precise reproduction steps when reporting defects
  • Actively engages and contributes to all Agile ceremonies and meetings on time
  • Engages with the team through collaboration, listening, problem-solving, support, sharing, and helping make other team members better
  • Takes ownership and creates accountability within the team
  • Applies a thorough understanding of client workflows and client data to the test strategy
  • Takes ownership of the quality of the product (functional readiness + code quality + performance)
  • Mentors new hires
  • Engages in backlog grooming, planning, and design reviews, performs test strategy reviews
  • Guides the work and mentors Test Engineers
  • Applies technology trends and industry innovations to our products
