Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, product management, profit analysis, preferably for a manufacturing organization.
- Understanding of financial principles related to profit analysis, budgeting, and profitability enhancement.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field required.
- Mathematical and analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects.
- Experience in developing and implementing business strategies and product improvements.
- Experience with developing and presenting data-driven proposals to support strategic decisions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to influence others within the job area by explaining relevant facts, policies, and practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes and forecasts financial, economic and other data to provide timely and accurate information for strategic and operational decisions.
- Interprets financial information on costs, prices, expenses and revenues so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making operational and strategic decisions. Aids in the completion of the annual (Nenkei) and mid-year (Shukei) planning processes.
- Uses business intelligence tools to create and provide requested reports and presentations.
- Acts as resource to less experienced professionals.
- Analyzes economic indicators in order to prepare forecasts and analyze the company’s short, medium and long term financial position as needed.
- Conducts environmental scans, organization positioning analysis and other studies. May research and analyze acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in alliance with the organization’s long range plans as needed.
- Researches and analyzes competitors, operational effectiveness and capacity utilization as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of financial reporting or business intelligence tools
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to create innovative solutions to difficult situations. Ability to predict trends based upon systemic understanding of the organization’s operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and good presentation skills. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers on issues of moderate to considerable importance
- Good customer service skills. Ability to promote and support a service-oriented environment
- Good negotiation skills. Ability to defend position strongly while keenly aware of the need to maximize benefits for all sides
- Ability to apply the PDCA process to own work
