Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills that translate into test case writing and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to test areas.
  • Proficient in various testing techniques (e.g., edge case, exploratory, blackbox, whitebox)
  • Ability to analyze and convey quality risks for new and existing features
  • Experience with testing API layer through either manual or automated calls
  • Strong communicator with ability to break down and convey technical concepts
  • Ability to prioritize test conditions and features to be tested
  • Experience with Mobile and Native App Testing with a working knowledge of underlying technologies and how they interact.
  • Manage testing process for small to medium sized projects, including providing status through meetings and/or Jira or similar tool.
  • Conceptual knowledge of automation testing techniques (e.g., frontend, backend, contract, api)
  • Experience using object-oriented programming languages, with a strong preference of JavaScript.
  • Strong soft skills and ability to communicate up, down and across the organization.
  • Strong sense of when to escalate issues to the proper level.

Responsibilities

  • Be an advocate for Quality through analyzing risks, test planning, test tracking, and test run results.
  • Constantly strive for more efficient and effective quality procedures, including analyzing trends around defects and feature areas.
  • Quickly come up to speed on FanDuel Sportsbook and how it relates to other product lines.
  • Work with engineering teams to determine best test strategies. (e.g., direct testing, testing reviews and coaching, identify any automation that may be relevant to run.)
  • Enable engineering teams to self-serve as much as possible.
  • Identify areas of improvement as they relate to Software Quality. (e.g., new automation and testing strategies to add to backlog)
  • Participate in testing moderately complex or high-risk software developments.
  • Work with team to assess code coverage by both automated and manual run tests.
  • Contribute to test cases and documentation.
  • Communicate test strategy and progress to various stakeholders, (e.g., engineering managers, engineers, product managers, and product owners)
  • Work with the wider Quality Engineering org to improve services offerings to engineering in order to facilitate ease and speed of testing.
