Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited college with 6+ years of work experience or 10+ years related work experience in small parts, injection molding, and/or automated equipment design and at least 8+ years in dental/orthodontics related industry.
- 7+ years experience designing with Pro-E (Wildfire 2.0 or higher) or equivalent.
- 7+ years of project management experience with multi-discipline teams.
- 5+ years of 2-D drafting experience.
- 7+ years of injection mold component and mold design.
- Possess a strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing techniques including machining, sheet metal, and injection molding.
- Excellent decision making/problem solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Power Point.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to development of new designs and/or processes at all stages, from concept creation to production tooling.
- Applies advanced mechanical engineering principles, concepts, theories and techniques to solve complex problems and create innovative problem solutions related to product development, manufacturing, and design.
- Broad use of project management principles, concepts, theories and techniques to lead project team while maintaining accountability for schedule and budget.
- Develops resolutions to complex problems that require use of creativity and detailed analysis while following fundamentals and advanced engineering principles, company standard practices and procedures and related specification.
- Works is accomplished with limited direction and typically defined by the individual during task development.
- Plans, implements, and executes engineering project leadership through all project phases.
- Evaluates and approves design changes, specification, and drawing releases.
- Produces design models, drawing details, assembly drawings, and associated engineering documentation with 3-D parametric modeling software, MS Word, EXCEL and MS Power Point.
- Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
- Ensure accurate and controlled documents are generated.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with orthodontics or medical products a plus.
- Experience with phased new product development processes from concept through full production release is a plus.
