Requirements
- PhD. or M.S. or Bachelors degree in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields.
- Knowledge of underlying mathematical foundations of economics, statistics, machine learning, optimization, and analytics.
- Knowledge of experimental design and analysis.
- Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, and model development.
- Ability to use Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets. Proficiency in SQL.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test models for realtime pricing, matching and other optimizations in a complex marketplace.
- Use advanced statistical and causal inference techniques to measure fundamental econometric quantities such as incrementality and long term value; and design, run and analyze experiments.
- Generate data insights and identify opportunities for product and marketplace improvement.
- Use data insights, judgement and subject matter expertise to guide roadmap development.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry experience
- Experience in causal inference and other advanced econometric and statistical techniques.
- Experience in algorithm development and prototyping.
- Experience in productionizing ML or optimization algorithms.
- Experience in pricing/matching in the on-demand/gig/shared economy.
