Requirements

  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems.
  • A good understanding of Java and Microservices.
  • Hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Kafka (or other messaging service), Memcached/Redis or any caching technologies, relational DBMS (MySQL, Oracle etc.)
  • Should be hands on writing/reviewing design & code.
  • Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.
  • CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.
  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
  • Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.
  • Ability to build products with focus on testability, someone who loves test coverage.
  • A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment.
  • A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business partners to provide robust technical solutions to business problems.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders on refining data contracts and managing development priorities.
  • Lead fellow engineers through architectural guidelines and best practices in software development.
  • Manage quality and application codebase for one or more products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
