Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, with major in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 10-12 or more years of industry work experience.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong software engineering life-cycle experience and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability on designing and managing data lakes and implementing efficient data pipeline solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and advanced complex systems modeling.
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: DODAF and generation of related models and dashboards, AI/ML (LLM, Neural Network, NLP, etc.), Alternative software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.).
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site domestically/internationally approx. 20%.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Providing software systems engineering skills to space, ground, and launch systems in the national security, civil, and commercial domains.
  • Applying skills and adaptability in various areas that may include resolution of software systems issues. Support may include software development; software architectures; enterprise systems; technology recommendations; cloud and virtualization deployments; microservices and API development; and systems modeling.
  • Identifying exciting and innovative opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges.
  • Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking.
  • Operates strategically through engaging with customers in leveraging the latest technology that provides innovative solutions to their challenging problems in the space arena.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in STEM or in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • 15 or more years of industry work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in three or more of the following areas: DODAF and generation of related models and dashboards, Data lakes and data pipelining, Model-based systems engineering and complex systems modeling, AI/ML (LLM, Neural Network, NLP, etc.), Alternative software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
