Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing and/or procurement/strategic sourcing department supporting an indirect category with contract negotiation and supplier management experience or equivalent industry expertise that includes global scope.
  • High level technical competence in all core Strategic Sourcing disciplines
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the marketing procurement categories
  • Essential knowledge of core procurement fundamentals with a marketing focus
  • Great teammate and able to work independently while prioritizing their own time and work
  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Experience of redlining contracts and general familiarity with key contract terms is essential
  • A leader in establishing and maintaining business partner relationships, including influencing skills are essential and rising to the challenge when looking after demanding business partners
  • Capable of working with abstract concepts and presenting simply and clearly to others
  • Strong problem-solving, lateral thinking, project management, planning organizational and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted adviser, and subject matter expert, leading marketing sourcing and procurement projects.
  • Build the strategy to optimize our partner portfolio spanning all types of marketing services across Expedia Brands.
  • Act as the collaborator across Expedia brands to bring teams together and influence an Expedia wide solution.
  • For individual procurement projects, build, communicate, and implement work plans and timelines. Identify the required supporting efforts, dependencies, or barriers, as well as track and report on progress/issues.
  • Deliver sustainable value by leading negotiations with vendors on the scope of work, commercials & contract, which will involve working with legal, finance, tax and other internal departments.
  • Be a strategic partner to Marketing teams throughout the sourcing process.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize value and to deliver a best-in-class supply chain across multiple marketing spend categories.
  • Support the continuous development and evolution of a marketing vendor database, using vendors data to drive efficiencies and effective vendor management.
  • Act as the point of contact for critical issues to both our marketing teams and other areas such as legal, finance, tax, audit.
  • Partner with marketing teams to build, moderate to complex service requirements and scope, assist with identifying vendors, manage the entire RFx process, provide vendor evaluation framework and recommendations on vendor selection.
  • Draft and redline commercial components of master purchasing and service contracts, statements of work, and software as a service and licensing agreements.
  • Continue to build on process improvement across Procurement, Legal, Finance and Marketing.
  • Lead, develop and grow a procurement team.
