Requirements
- Requires knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes.
- Working knowledge of labor contracts.
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees.
Responsibilities
- Develops and delivers technical training programs to ensure the safe, effective performance and skill development of Substation Operations, Metering, Field Design employees.
- Assesses and evaluates employee performance and proficiency.
- Participates in evaluation of new tools, materials, and equipment.
- Conducts quality assurance audits and supervises field employees.
- Serves as the local technical lead or coach for other supervisors.
- Develops and coaches other supervisors in various aspects of their role.
- Authorizes re-allocation of resources in situations where conflicting priorities exist.
- Drives innovation and change in business processes.
- Leads area work center activities during manager absence.
- Represents their manager at department, customer, and community meetings.
