Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration managing Windows administration (additional experience managing Linux operating systems is a plus) in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with VMware and vCenter.
- Experience with performance monitoring and logging tools – Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk, Etc.
- Experience with datacenter platform hardware – Dell, HPE blade chassis and servers.
- Experience with enterprise SAN storage solutions.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business via phone, written communication, and in person.
- Team collaboration, responsiveness, ability to multitask.
- Strong sense of urgency, ability to set priorities and perform the job with little guidance.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to internal staff in support of client payment infrastructure within a collaborative and positive working environment interacting with team members at all levels.
- Handles day-to-day VMware vSphere operational tasks including but not limited to: Performance analysis of overall system health, Disk and Network management, configuration, and troubleshooting, apply software updates and deploy new systems, troubleshooting performance or configuration issues on virtualization platform hardware.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills to effectively manage IT systems, and to keep up with technological advancements.
- Windows OS installation and configuration.
- Linux OS (RHEL) installation and configuration.
- Database administration with MS SQL / Postgres.
- Utilizes a variety of technology tools and procedures to respond and resolve internal and external customer issues.
- Ensure that all incident tickets and change records are fully documented, planned, resolved, and executed on time and per the expectations and within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Design and implement upgrades, new systems, and software applications to meet changing business needs, in collaboration with other IT professionals and departments.
- Help create and maintain KB process documentation for change management planning and troubleshooting purposes.
- Ensure that Payments Infrastructure is healthy, stable, documented, and configured with accepted technical best practices.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to protect critical information in the event of system failure.
- Manage incident/task workflow, prioritize requests, and maintain transparent communication.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSSQL or PostgresDB management experience preferred
- Enterprise infrastructure experience
- Payments infrastructure experience
- VMware – VMware Certified Technical Associate(VCTA), VMware Certified Professional(VCP) or higher preferred
- Windows – Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- MSSQL – Azure Database Administrator Associate
- RHEL – Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer preferred
