Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education
- Five plus (5+) years of relevant engineering experience
- Ability to travel 25-30% of the time
- Understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) and wiring
- Understanding and experience with variable speed drives and the effects on the compressor and system
- Effective and adaptive oral and written skills for training, technical support and various problem-solving skills
- Proven success in cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Prior commercial HVAC experience
Responsibilities
- Work with the Oil Free Centrifugal (OFC) development team to become the customer facing technical expert supporting the compressor, controls and drive
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting the Copeland controls and variable speed drive
- Represent Copeland to integrate the OFC solution into the customer’s system
- Provide samples and work directly with the customer’s engineering team and lab resources to test and validate the application
- Create customer facing technical specifications and troubleshooting guidelines
- Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as power electronics, engineering, labs, marketing, product management and sales
- Provide technical training to the internal Copeland team, customers and end-users
- Clearly and precisely communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with integrating and troubleshooting oil free centrifugal compressors, controls and variable speed drives
- Experience with developing and troubleshooting controls and variable speed drives in an HVAC system
- Customer facing technical and sales experience
- Ten plus (10+) years of relevant engineering experience and HVAC
- Experience with the operation of chillers and data center applications
