Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance
- CPA designation (or close to completion) or Masters in Taxation preferred
- At least three years of corporate income tax or auditing/accounting experience in public accounting or an international corporation
- Proficiency with Corporate Taxprep, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Responsibilities
- Preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions for entities in various jurisdictions
- Preparation of Canadian income tax returns including but not limited to T2, T5013, T106 and T1134
- Preparation and filing of periodical indirect tax returns to entities in various jurisdictions
- Assistance in monthly tax account review and analysis, draft journal entries including tax account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of responses to tax related annual audit information requests
- Assist with government audits, prepare responses to queries, and review assessments
- Liaise with regional finance teams, AP, and treasury team to support tax-related information requests
- Assist with template development and automation opportunities on tax calculation workbooks
- Responsible for managing project timelines, including coordinating preparation schedules and communicating timelines to management
- Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc analysis and management reporting to provide tax input as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of CPA in-depth Tax Program level I to III (or working towards) is an asset
- Experience with tax accounting, tax provisions and international tax preferred
- Experience with indirect tax filing and EIFEL rules is considered an asset
- Experience with Looker, Dynamics GP or Workday is an asset
- Comfortable with large amounts of data and strong documentation skills
- Proven problem-solving capabilities and excellent attention to detail
- Aptitude to work both independently and as a team member in a dynamic environment
- Self-motivated person who takes initiative and ownership to improve tax related processes and procedures
