Requirements

• Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in VMware administration and virtualization technologies
• Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 451 – Intermediate; Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
• Additional Cert: VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
• Proficient in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies
• Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security in virtual environments
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation

Responsibilities

• Oversees the deployment, management, and optimization of virtualized server environments using VMware technologies
• Installs, configures, and maintains VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server
• Performs virtual machine provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management and ensures the availability, scalability, and security of the virtual infrastructure
• Optimizes resource allocation within the virtual environment to ensure performance and efficiency
• Monitors the health and performance of virtual servers using tools such as vRealize Operations Manager
• Applies patches, updates, and firmware upgrades to VMware hosts and virtual machines
• Performs regular backups and snapshots of virtual machines for disaster recovery purposes
• Ensures compliance with change management processes during maintenance activities
• Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments
• Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
• May supervise others
