Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience; PhD with 1 year experience or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience developing production-deployed ETL pipelines.
  • Experience developing data integration solutions across multiple source systems.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in development languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Proficiency in query languages such as SQL, SPARQL, GraphQL, or Cypher.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline solutions such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and Apache Kafka.
  • Understanding of data modeling and its importance in data integration.
  • Proven track record as a self-starter who takes the initiative to solve hard problems.
  • Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment.
  • Demonstrated team-player enabling joint success and a continuous learner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide innovative technical solutions to previously unsolved data management and integration challenges.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable production ELT pipelines.
  • Perform data preparation, cleaning, integration, and automation from heterogeneous sources.
  • Ensure data integrity and system availability.
  • Diagnose and address data integration issues efficiently.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend core technologies and strategies.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance.
  • Assist in the development of standard program data models.
  • Design and develop data processing pipelines that generate automated quality and completeness metrics for program data products.
  • Provide technical expertise to enable a shared vision within an Agile Team.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to data pipelines and processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards and trends in data management, processing, and utilization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Palantir, etc.) and technologies for processing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with distributed platforms such as Kubernetes or those offered by cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with graph data storage and analysis solutions such as Neo4j, AWS Neptune, and TigerGraph.
  • Understanding of semantic data modeling and tools/formats such as JSON-LD, RDF, and OWL.
  • Familiarity with data extraction from DoD Accusation lifecycle digital engineering tools such as IBM Doors, No Magic Teamwork Cloud, Siemens Teamcenter, PLM, ERP systems.
  • Master’s degree or above in data engineering.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years is highly desirable.
