Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 8 years’ experience; 6 years’ experience with a Master’s; 4 years’ with PHD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- 4-6 years’ experience with systems engineering including working knowledge of requirements, verification and validation (V&V)
- MIL-STD-882E, DoD Standard Practice – System Safety
- ICBM weapon system experience (Minuteman III or similar)
Responsibilities
- Analyzing and recommending design features to meet safety criteria in system design to control or eliminate hazards
- Active participation in design of products/systems, support equipment and facilities
- Creation of functional specifications and establishing safety requirements for assigned systems
- Developing documents, as required, to support customer and test/operational range requirements
- Performing audits of operational areas and observing procedures to report on effectiveness of the system safety program
- Coaching and mentoring fellow team members to successful program execution
- Acting as an advisor to management and customers/stakeholders on advanced technical research studies, applications, and work products
- Driving execution to the program schedule within cost and time constraints as a technical lead for the team
Preferred Qualifications
- ICBM weapon system experience (Minuteman III or similar)
- Experience in reviewing technical schematics, drawings, plans and specifications on the system, and test and integration facilities and apply occupational safety requirements
