Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis, and usage trends
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for the 2 years of experience
  • 6 months on-the-job training required to learn specialized surgery components, inventory systems, and departmental policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of ordering, receiving, distribution, and warehousing of all essential departmental equipment and supplies.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain inventory systems to order, control, expedite, and inventory supplies to enhance the fiscal management of the department.
  • Schedule and coordinate the daily flow of activity for receiving.
  • Resolve shipping and receiving issues directly with the vendor or carriers.
  • Coordinate the receipt and storage of supplies on the dock and within bulk storage.
  • Perform administrative functions related to the department inventory control and distribution.
  • Produce monthly statistical reports, completes a physical inventory and performs cycle counts as required.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new procedures, policies and systems.
  • Maintain the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationships with all vendor representatives, conduct business according to established principles and guidelines.
