Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Personnel management/leadership experience and ability to lead and influence technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Accountable leader overseeing a team responsible for a propeller assembly site and its global supply base.
- Assess the QMS health and ensure the full compliance to the different applicable requirements for the entire site activity
- Lead Quality Management System QMS gap analysis and future state process implementation
- Ensure Safety Management System is well deployed at each level of the organization.
- Ensure FAA and military customer compliance across contracts and platforms
- Lead cross functional Escape investigation teams and drive RRCA
- Support site Quality Management System in accordance with Collins’s quality standards.
- Direct quality deliverables and initiatives including: APQP, quality notification reviews, material disposition, certificate of Conformance review, shipment data packages, root cause and investigation.
- Work cross functionally resolving problems with product quality impacting operations and customers.
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and technologies using the CORE approach
- Drive product and process improvements ensuring the value stream quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework, Throughput, Process Certification).
- Establish systems to support data integrity and accessibility.
- Support and contribute to Propeller Systems policy deployment
- Ensure adequate supplier quality surveillance is in place. Either based on Power & Control surveillance for the common suppliers or using our own surveillance for Propeller Systems dedicated suppliers.
- Foster a diverse culture of engaged and committed employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Sufficient knowledge of Windsor Locks Quality Management System (QMS).
- Working knowledge of Domestic and International regulatory compliance requirements (i.e., FAA, CAAC, CAAS, EASA, NRC, DOT, etc.).
- Experience in applying ISO 9001, AS9100 and AS9110
- Project management experience and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma).
- Experience working with SAP Quality module, Solumina MES, Teamcenter, and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.
