Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent specializing in ground-up construction, particularly commercial and/or multifamily projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven ability to interpret and build according to construction drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, MS Projects), Procore, scheduling software, and CAE/CAD applications is preferred.
- OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant construction management certifications are preferred.
- Any combination of relevant education and/or experience demonstrating proficiency in the essential functions of the role.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all site-related activities, including subcontractors and coordination with internal teams, municipal authorities, and third-party entities.
- Develop detailed work plans, sequencing strategies, laydown plans, and temporary facility locations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive schedules for vertical and horizontal subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Review and execute project plans, specifications, and manufacturers’ data, ensuring compliance with project documentation.
- Conduct pre-construction planning to ensure smooth execution.
- Manage and update three-week look-ahead schedules, collaborating daily with project staff to assess their impact on the overall schedule.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Lead and manage the on-site construction team, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
- Coordinate and oversee all on-site construction activities, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Facilitate daily on-site construction meetings with subcontractors, foremen, and team leads to maintain quality, safety, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
- Review submittals to ensure compliance with project plans, manufacturers’ recommendations, and manuals before execution.
- Assist with generating Requests for Information (RFIs), track responses, and monitor their impact on project schedules and potential delays.
- Ensure site safety by enforcing compliance with Z-Modular safety policies and OSHA standards, maintaining a safe environment for workers and visitors.
- Liaise with inspection authorities to obtain necessary approvals.
- Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
- Mentor and train field personnel, fostering professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with peers such as the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and General Superintendent.
- Work with the project team to manage relationships with suppliers, jurisdictions, subcontractors, and other industry professionals.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support overall project and company objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
