Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of professional experience in investigation, auditing, social work, juvenile justice, personnel administration, law enforcement, or child support enforcement (Level I)
  • Three years of professional experience in the same fields (Level II)
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing social service agencies and residential facilities
  • Ability to review and analyze large amounts of information
  • Ability to conduct interviews effectively
  • Ability to gather and analyze evidence and information
  • Ability to organize and present facts in a concise and objective manner
  • Ability to testify in court
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Carries a caseload comprised of investigations regarding abuse, neglect, sexual abuse and exploitation
  • Complete all investigation activities according to policy and statute guidelines
  • Conduct field interviews with victims, witnesses, providers, guardians, accused staff and other professionals
  • Identify policy violations and report concerns to contract and licensing monitors
  • Collect evidence and documentation including photographs, videos, written statements, incident reports, police reports, and medical records
  • Prepare a written investigative report including all demographic information, interviews, evidence and documentation, summary of finding
  • Complete all post investigation activities including appearing and testifying in registry hearings and/or criminal proceedings
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond after hours and on weekends to priority investigations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of quality control and audit procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
