Software Development Engineer III

Introduction to team:
Expedia Product & Technology builds innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences for the traveler and our partners that drive loyalty and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do:

• Help our travelers efficiently find and view options that are perfect for their travel plans.
• Design and implement sophisticated features and initiatives using modern tools and techniques including advanced data analysis, machine learning, advanced testing and validation techniques such as AB, interleaving and multi-arm bandit. Be a leader in software best practices, including domain driven design and reactive architecture.
• Work with other teams and team members to co-develop and resolve problems.
• Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process
• Feel comfortable challenging the status quo

Who you are:

• You have a Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• You have experience working in a large scale (micro) service and web plus mobile development environment.
• You have experience developing features in Java, Kotlin (a plus) and Python. Additional knowledge of Redis, Elasticsearch and Kafka is a plus.
• You are always curious, investigating any code repository you can find and looking to contribute.
• You are excited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks such as React, GraphQL and Kotlin.
• You Love all aspects of application development, from brainstorming and design to implementation, launch and support.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
