Requirements
- College and/or University degree an asset
- Fluent in French is considered an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage work load effectively, especially during times of high activity and tight time lines
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team oriented approach to accomplish branch results
Responsibilities
- Production and underwriting of profitable new and renewal business
- Complete rating tool, apply risk judgment, and work with actuaries if required
- Review of policy coverage, claims experience and deal structure analysis
- Ensure files are well documented and comply with corporate standards
- Maintain profitability of book of business
- Prepare referrals (when required), quote letters and bind letters
- Perform marketing activities, grow target business
- Relationship management including servicing of brokers, clients and risk managers
- Develop underwriting solutions with other divisions on new business and renewal opportunities
- May require occasional travel to support broker and client relationship
- Work with center of excellence and / or shared services on policy administration
- Resolve accounting inquiries, month end verification in liaison with center of excellence and shared services on premium coding
- Assist claims department with requests on file documentation
