Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Microbiology (ability to consider spring 2025 graduates)
- 1+ years experience or internship in the food/beverage industry
- 2+ years experience in quality assurance or food science
- Experience with microbial contamination, chemical safety, GMP’s, sanitation, HACCP, Quality Systems, and allergens
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Build upon existing Quality, HACCP, and allergen programs in the plant to assure regulatory compliance of facility, equipment, and plant practices
- Drive continuous improvement in all plant Quality systems, food safety and sanitation
- Participate in our Food Safety and Food Defense teams to ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained
- Manage the hold/release system for finished goods and raw materials (SharePoint, Oracle & Plant DDS Hold Log)
- Maintain records of finished goods testing results, procedures, and monitoring activities (QA Logs)
- Participate in the view of plant Food Safety Plan including, but not limited to Allergen Control Program, Pest Control Program, Environmental Program, Specifications, and Plant Self Audits
- Review and audit Supply Base Quality System (TraceGains)
- Provide coaching to plant operations on food safety, quality systems and day-to-day quality issues
- Train all full-time employees in Food Safety Plans, Allergen Control Program, Food Defense, Sanitation, Statistical Process Control, Quality, and GMP’s
- Review SSOP’s and maintain Master Sanitation Schedule
- Assist in providing recommendations for Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation processes and improvements
- Drive out defects in the process through collaboration with the production teams and leadership to prevent and correct food safety and quality issues
- Grow partnerships with chemical supply vendors and manage chemical supply inventory
- Maintain audit readiness for Corporate, GMP, Government agencies, SQMS, BRC, or other third-party audits
- Verify and validate cleaning effectiveness through sanitation audits and environmental data review
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Food Safety, Food Defense, PCQI Principles, Quality 19 KE and BRC auditing
- Experience with statistical analysis processes and PQM tools to analyze complex databases to expose losses, develop improvement and action plans
- Experience of Prodika and SharePoint data base management
