Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or 5-7 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Extensive experience in systems engineering, with a focus on cloud migration, cyber hardening, and multi-cloud automation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, with hands-on experience in cloud migration, deployment, and management.
  • Expertise in Windows Server Operating Systems and Linux, with a strong understanding of their integration into cloud environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including VLANs, DNS, and DHCP, as they relate to cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including vulnerability remediation, cyber hardening, and compliance with data privacy laws.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, with a focus on multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and techniques, ensuring the optimal operation of IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration of on-premises systems to cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Administer and support Azure and AWS cloud services, including the creation, configuration, and management of cloud resources such as VMs, Web Apps, Data Factory, Containers, and Key Vaults.
  • Manage Azure and AWS deployments, ensuring smooth transitions from non-production to production environments.
  • Assess current systems for obsolescence, developing and implementing strategies to replace outdated technologies with modern solutions.
  • Ensure the continuous modernization of the IT infrastructure by adopting new technologies and practices that enhance system performance and security.
  • Implement cyber hardening measures to enhance the security of both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, identifying and remediating security weaknesses across the IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain automation scripts and tools to optimize multi-cloud environments, reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency.
  • Analyze cloud environments for cost optimization opportunities, implementing strategies to reduce costs while maintaining high performance and security.
  • Integrate applications, databases, web services, and backup systems into a cohesive enterprise IT environment, ensuring seamless operation across platforms.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and service records to support operational continuity and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor the performance of cloud and on-premises systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary enhancements.
  • Prepare and deliver system performance reports, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing infrastructure investments.
  • Perform server system failover, backup procedures, and recovery processes in line with the organization’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Ensure that all critical systems are backed up and recoverable in the event of a disaster.
