Requirements

  • Relevant degree preferred: RN, Healthcare Administration, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in clinical/patient care services specifically in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier development within a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
  • Background in healthcare supply chain and value analysis is a plus.
  • Experience in program development and vendor evaluation is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop content and present category insights to both large and small audiences, including senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to analyze market trends, assess supplier capabilities, and drive data-informed contract decisions.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, development, and management of a moderate to high-complexity portfolio, which includes high-visibility services with significant utilization and potential regulatory considerations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by developing industry insights, trends, and best practices, shared through presentations, internal reports, and external-facing content (e.g., blogs, category insights, and white papers).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, educating and influencing clients, internal teams: consulting, sales; member councils/task forces, and suppliers to maximize the value of Vizient national agreements and other contract offerings.
  • Develop category strategy, lead contract negotiations with suppliers, create marketing plans, and manage spend categories within the developed framework to deliver unique value to all clients.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and revenue plans, tracking contract performance against category objectives using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, service utilization, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify gaps in category offerings and develop a roadmap for introducing new services to contract, ensuring continued innovation and market competitiveness.
