Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Media, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Generally, 10+ years of experience in content licensing, acquisitions, or co-productions within the media or entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate content for acquisition across all Scripps brands and platforms.
- Negotiate licensing agreements with content producers, distributors, and other partners to maximize revenue and ensure favorable terms for the company.
- Lead co-production efforts with domestic and international partners to create original content, leveraging relationships and understanding of global markets while guiding creative input when applicable.
- Work with internal teams to research market trends, audience preferences, and competitive landscape to inform content licensing decisions and opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts, including producers, distributors, and content creators, to facilitate successful partnerships and collaborations.
- Manage department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for acquisitions and co-productions while maximizing ROI.
- Mentor and manage a team of content acquisition specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the department.
- Work closely with marketing, legal, and production teams to ensure seamless execution of licensing and co-production agreements.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of content acquisition initiatives and report findings to senior leadership.
