Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or MBT are highly desirable
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive tax experience, including at least 3 years in leadership roles in corporate tax or public accounting
  • Strong expertise in corporate tax compliance
  • Experience managing tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and international tax regulations
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial systems.
  • Strong business partnership and service mindset for business partnership and outcomes.
  • Experience managing and developing a team

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support the company’s financial goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on the tax implications of business operations, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations to mitigate risks and minimize tax expense.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of all federal, state, local, and international tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations, including income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and payroll tax.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and handle tax audits, inquiries, and disputes effectively.
  • Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and disclosures for financial statements in compliance with ASC 740 or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to provide accurate tax estimates, forecasts, and analysis for financial planning.
  • Build and lead a high-performing tax team by hiring, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure tax compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor global tax developments and assess their potential impact on the organization.
