Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences strongly preferred with 5-8 years of field or related experience.
  • A motivated, self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Problem solving and strong analytical skills a must.
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to design, carry-out, and document tests.
  • Training in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies desired, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Regular attendance and good work ethic.
  • Ability to take supervision and get along well with others.
  • Safely perform essential job responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices and procedures. Responsible for design, development, implementation and analysis of new processes or products.
  • Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Applies the use of continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Leads multi-site efforts with departments and personnel for consistency and standardization as necessary.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Provides expert judgement and analysis for the design, development and implementation of new processes and products.
  • Maintains confidential and proprietary information in a professional manner. Serve as a technical resource for other departments.
  • Develop working relationships with our suppliers to stay informed of new materials and technologies.
  • Keep abreast of developments in materials, processes and equipment applicable to respective area.
  • Develops original solutions to problems Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Participate in Viracon’s Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team’s performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.
  • Works with limited supervision.
  • May report to a manager or department head.

Preferred Qualifications
