Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience in the field or advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s) with 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • FAA Dispatcher License (required). College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day management of the scheduling/dispatch function, including but not limited to performance management, staff development, and work schedule coverage.
  • Ensure timely decisions are made regarding flight scheduling, logistics, and other operations.
  • Lead the implementation and use of scheduling software and associated procedures to enhance communication and operations within the department.
  • Provide support to dispatch when necessary.
  • Make time-sensitive decisions related to the safety of flight, security, personnel, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Resolve operational issues, minimizing customer impact, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Ensure that CBI flight operations and training programs are being conducted in accordance with FAA FARs and all CBI published company standards for all aircraft types.
  • Assist Sr. Director in creating and managing the department’s annual operating budget, including operating expenses, facilities, supplies, outside services, training, and capital expenses.
  • Maintain vendor contracts and oversee the procurement of goods and services necessary for operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, manufacturers, and internal departments to ensure compliance with necessary regulations and operational needs.
  • Provide Senior Director with insights regarding the condition of aircraft and equipment, advising on status, needs, and required improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in general aviation, with at least 3-5 years in international scheduling and flight coordination.
  • Previous large group management experience with at least five of those in a direct supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with US and International Aviation regulatory agencies and functions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • This position may require occasional travel.
  • Demonstrated history of strong and active leadership, strategic vision and managerial competency.
  • Ability to create and execute a plan while maintaining the flexibility to overcome challenges through creative problem solving.
  • Proficiency in computerized scheduling applications (such as FOS).
  • Experience with computerized flight following software.
  • Knowledge of SIFL (Standard Industry Fare Level) reporting.
  • Budgeting experience in aviation departments.
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance, scheduling, and regulatory requirements.
