Requirements
- 8 years progressive experience in Financial Planning, Business Analytics, Controller, and/or financial analysis experience within a multinational business.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix structure, along business and functional dimensions.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance principles and internal controls.
- Strong system/application skills: SAP, BPC, or other ERP Tools Advanced proficiency in Excel: creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets and ability to create reports from complicated database systems.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize logic, reasoning, and critical thinking in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches.
Responsibilities
- Key business partner to VP of R&D and VP of Project Management, providing support and strategic financial guidance for Global R&D.
- Leads Planning activities for Global R&D Function, including Medical & Scientific affairs and Regulatory Affairs.
- Partners with R&D leadership to prepare the quarterly forecasts, annual Budget and Strategic Plan for the global R&D, aligning to the greater BDB strategic priorities.
- Drives a focus on quarterly forecast on monthly spending accuracy.
- Develops and reviews financial reports with the R&D function and Global business, including monthly and quarterly financial reports and associated variance reporting to budget, projection and prior periods.
- Drives quantitative analysis for portfolio prioritization with areas of emphasis including financial modeling, financial and operational analysis.
- Provides support to the business for the bi-annual portfolio reviews.
- Develops and publishes regular reporting to track results and progress against goals/KPIs.
- Drives quantitative analyses as needed that lead to actionable recommendations for the business (e.g., analyze capital requirements, depreciation expenditure, return on investment).
- Performs ad-hoc analyses as needed that lead to actionable recommendations for the business (e.g., analyze capital requirements, depreciation expenditure, return on investment) budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Business preferred or Accounting plus an MBA or CPA certification (or equivalent)
